Phase-III: Security preparedness, briefing session held in DPL Kupwara | KNO

Kupwara, Sep 28 (KNO): A security preparedness and briefing session was conducted by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Ghulam Jeelani, in District Police Lines Kupwara on Saturday. The session was attended by officers from the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and District Police, in preparation for the 3rd phase of the General Elections for the Legislative Assembly, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). During the session, SSP Kupwara provided detailed instructions on the duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the officers, focusing on the security scenario in the district, law and order maintenance, and handling terrorism-related challenges. The briefing emphasized the importance of coordination and effective response to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the upcoming elections. Deepak Nandal, Commanding Officer (CO) of 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), along with District Nodal Officers of the CRPF—CO 98 Bn, J.P. Sahi—and BSF 127 Bn, Jagir Chand, as well as Gh. Mohd Bhat, Addl SP Kupwara, also addressed the participating officers. They provided further insights and guidance on the duties to be performed during the election period. The briefing saw active participation, with several queries and issues raised by the attending officers. SSP Kupwara addressed these concerns and assured full cooperation from the District Police to support the smooth execution of responsibilities by the deployed forces. The session was attended by Adhoc COs of CRPF, BSF, ITBP, as well as Company Commanders of the CAPF contingents who have arrived for election duties in the district, alongside other officers from the District Police—(KNO)
